Thank you for this video! I bought over $100 of reptilink products just so that my one hognose male could have variation in his diet as well but he didn't want anything to do with reptilinks (including the frog scent). Hes back on just a mouse diet for now. I'm glad I am not the only one who experienced this.

Just had a convo about these reptilinks for my western Xanthic and possibly giving them a try, glad my favorite hognose channel is ahead of me on this!

Try cutting the reptilink open so they can smell it better and it may be more enticing

So glad you posted this. I have wondered about reptilinks for my 2 hognoses. I also want to vary their diet. Great thank info. Love your channel.

Oh, these are all I feed my picky hognose nowadays. She was the worst eater I’ve ever had, and she didn’t eat normally until I finally saw Reptilinks talked about and got the frog juice and the frog links. At first I had to poke the links to get her to eat them because she was very confused by the texture, but now she’s eating like a hognose should!

When I first got my hog. I offered pinkies and frog links every 5 or 6 days for 40 days. The first thing he ate was a link and never looked back (never ate a pink)
Back when it was a dollar minimum I just bought a gift card, figured I could at least sell it. Now it's a number of minimim but he loves them now. I also train feed since he's gotten bigger and I'm lazy to wait for him lol.

My tip would be to tear/pop one side of the casing and squish out some of the meat and juices before offering. I never did the choo choo train method and just offered as normal until they took it. I have been using reptilinks to vary the diet of mine for a couple of years. I have a small group currently but 9 out of 12 mine eat them with gutso.

I don't own any snakes because I stay so busy I'd never have enough time but we love them. Just subscribed

Sad we can't get these in the UK. I would like to try them for the same reason, for a varied diet 😏

The extra shipping fees for us folks in CA, WA, or OR make it not worth it. $153 for 21 100G links is an absolute rip-off, even factoring in the quality of the product. Why can't Reptilinks offer lower fixed-rate shipping costs nation-wide like almost all other exotic pet feeders?!

When one of my girls was 6 months old, she went on a no feed phase for 4 months & when it started she weighed 13g. 2 months in after trying tuna, chicken hearts, braining, etc, I got the frog juice & microlinks & she was so offended. It took me another 2 months & after a recommendation from a breeder I buy from, I tried canned salmon & she finally took a chunk of that. This was in May when she finally ate & she weighed 11g then. A few months ago I finally got her eating pinkies again but she will only take them if they're completely covered in salmon. Not even a leg or ear showing, or she won't take it. She's up to 2 pinkies (I can't get her to take a fuzzy yet) the last few feedings & is just now up to 17g. At 18 months. I have 2 other females the same age & they weigh 79g & 81g. She's the same size as my hatchling Yeti I just brought home this week.

Anyway, I've had a few others go off feeding & tried the links & even tried to give some a snack & also scenting some mice. Not a single one would take any of it. Guess I spent $100 plus $50 shipping for nothing. I definitely wouldn't recommend them

Hey Germaine, I tried reptilinks for my baby hognose and he was a shy eater at first. He wouldent take a pinky or reptilink from my hand or while I was watching I left it on his feeding tray and it was gone. Now he eats pinkies and reptilinks even while I hold him. I think he just started off as a shy eater.

I understand why reptilinks makes you buy more then one product for shipping reasons but its still inconvienient. I have some large quail links for my bullsnake and he dont like them and he is a vigorous eater on mice and rats. So they might be useleas for me.

To everyone, enclosure, temps, and humidity aside, I bought a picky picky Snow Western and tried to go with Reptilinks, I wouldn't recommend this to ANYONE. Waste of money if youre dealing with a picky eater. My girl is 5 months old and is going on a 4 month hunger strike this upcoming April. I cant figure out what she wants to eat.
Because of your video I was able to find the breeder of the person who sold me my snake so THANK YOU and now I can contact to ask HOW THE HELL did they feed her as a hatchling??

I've got a Rosy Boa who isn't a picky eater, she's also only about 4 months old, but I hear that because the food is ground up or pureed that it's more easily absorbed and is almost like feeding twice the calories. People feed them only mice/rats their whole life and have no issues, but I know in the wild they can eat small birds, rodents, eggs, possibly even lizards or rabbits if they were adult and found a baby, so I just purchased some megablend (guinea fowl, quail, rabbit, chicken, frog) hoping that the variety will benefit her. When she sheds she won't eat for about 2 to 3 weeks as well so I'm hoping the higher calories would be a good thing to feed about when I think she's going to shed and after so she can continue to get good nutrition during that time. I guess time will tell, but typically Rosy Boas aren't picky so I'm hoping she will eat them easily.

I can see reptilinks being great for some animals, say geckos, tegus, blue tongued skinks, those animals often eat fruit and vegetables, even frog or bugs, and you can get reptilinks now that have all that stuff, I think that it'd be really beneficial for those animals more than just the quail or rabbit ones for a snake for example. I've seen a lot of bearded dragons with bone deficiency, it'd probably help avoid that as well for that species as you can get the links with the eggs as well to bump up their vitamin A and D and help them absorb calcium better. It seems like a lazy way to feed reptiles with varied diets which is a good thing I think.

Also a female that's breeding, I can see it being great for them. I've seen Ball Pythons and BCIs that look pretty rough after laying eggs or giving birth, they lose a lot of weight, I hear it's a great way to give them a lot of calories without being dangerous to help them stay healthy after breeding. Illness too, I've seen snakes get respitory infections and stop eating and lose 100, 200 grams of weight while on antibiotics, it'd be great to help them bounce back.

I liked the video, keeping it honest, most people rave about reptilinks and I can see why, but it's good to have a voice of reason letting people know it might not be a miracle food for a picky eater.
