★About Professor Herp★
I started getting into the reptile hobby in February of 2018. My first reptile was my Bearded Dragon - Maxine Pegasus (creator of duel monsters btw). Since then, I have added five Yellow Ackie Monitors (Asus, Dell, LG, and two unnamed babies), a Chacoan Black and White Tegu (Frappuccino), a Crested Gecko (Destin), and a Russian Tortoise (Tortellini). I also have a dog named Thrall (yes, from World of Warcraft) who is a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix - aka a Chiweenie.

My goal with this channel is to share my knowledge, experience and journey with other reptile/animal enthusiasts and become a better caretaker because of it. Hopefully I can learn a lot from the community through these videos.

Question! do reptilinks stink up the microwave, or can I use it without fear of making it stinky. If so, like "I just microwaved some meat" smell or "dead rat" smell?

Been waiting for this video ever since you first mentioned them. Definitely curious to try them out when my girl comes out of brumation. Might as well stock up in the meantime, lol. Thanks for this video John.

I swear by repti-links, they are so so easy and worry free.

REPTILINKS gives you the opportunity to feed our pets what they would eat in the wild.
My Beardies love REPTILINKS!
Our Hognose snakes love the REPTILINKS Frog.
Hoping to transition my Spotted Pythons and Corns soon.

I’ve not personally used them. But would if I had them on hand. I know of a guy who does use them occasionally to start retic hatchlings on if they aren’t taking normal prey items. He swears by them.

Great video! Can you feed your tegu ONLY reptilinks or do you have to feed other stuff as well?

Our tegu is a picky bugger and I've been concerned about him getting a complete diet. Tried the mega-blend reptilinks and he loved them - removing a whole lot of hassle and worry for me. My only regret so far is not trying them sooner.

I got my first order of Reptilinks about a month ago. Definitely agree customer service is top notch, they're really involved. They were backed up after Snake Discovery's feature, but they kept me up to date on my order and I didn't mind waiting, since they hand-make the links.
I didn't realize there was a specific method for keeping them once open, but I more or less did close to what was recommended anyway. I folded over the bag, pushed out the air, and put them in freezer bags. I just wrote in sharpie what was in them. I don't have a lot of freezer space so I couldn't do tubs.

I warm my links like I do with rodents, in a plastic bag in warm water.

The links seem like they're probably complete nutrition for a tegu, but I'm not sure for a savannah monitor. I got him the insect mix, but I feel like part of his diet should be pure insects so I use them as part of a rotation of foods. I'm leery of feeding him too much meat/high calorie. I feed him eggs sometimes anyway, so I didn't add eggs to my links. I feed him anything from the occasional rodent or chick to shrimp, tilapia, crawfish, small whole fish I find at the Asian grocery (I watch for thiaminaise species), quail/chicken eggs, and of course a variety of live bugs. He of course loves rodents and chicks most.
I'd almost like to see them make a seafood and insect blend. Maybe that's not feasible.

I love the convenience of having as much food as possible in my freezer for my reptiles, so feeding them is as easy as defrosting. I always have an assortment of rats, mice, chicks, and now reptilinks in the freezer :D Besides my Savannah, I have 3 snakes. My ball pythons said nope to the reptilinks, but my children's python loves the minis. I'm lucky I have a good reptile store not that far that has great feeder variety and quality.

No fair. I order reptilinks all the time, and never got stickers... Odd my dry ice comes in a heavy duty plastic bag... As for shipping mine takes 3 days since im in Washington state.. Also note that paying the extra mixing with quail eggs does not count towards total cost in shipping. So if you spend 180 and add eggs and it goes up to 200 that does not count for free shipping. But My Tegu loves reptilinks.. Loves mega blend, but didnt care for the insect kind.. But my girl actually chews hers instead of swallowing whole.
