Bubble Bobble's replayability could easily make it a classic for generations. Especially due to the two player option.

Mega Man, Castlevania, Kirby, Super Mario Bros. & Contra are always gonna be classics. However, the game I think held up the best on NES is not a Nintendo game but in fact it's heavily overlooked in my opinion and that is River City Ransom. Great beat em up with light RPG elements and it's co-op so you can enjoy it with a buddy. Can't really think of any that aged as gracefully as that one.

Excellent list! I grew up with an NES, so I will probably keep playing an NES for a long while. Glad to hear you mention the underrated _Adventures of Lolo_ amongst some of the more popular NES games. I played it when I was really little and it kept me captive with all its puzzles!

Not even 30 seconds in and you've already made me laugh and put me in a better mood. Even as I'm typing this you're hittin me with a belly laugh from your physical comedy. Thanks for the great content!

I'm so glad to see The Adventures of Lolo mentioned. I used to get my parents rent that all the time, but we never owned it. When I got into emulation during college it was one of the first games I fired up.

Punch out is great and still easy to pick up. I also recently replayed maniac mansion a bunch a few months ago. Don’t know how a new comer would like it but i still remembered all the multiple ways of beating it

There's actually a lot of NES games that are lesser known where the difficulty isn't necessarily quite as harsh. And they're actually really fun games like River City Ransom mighty final fight snow Brothers bubble bobbles fun just seems impossible to get past that last boss. Or a racing game like road blasters. And if you're into shooting games try the punisher on the NES only weird thing about that is they don't allow you to use the light gun when it seems like a perfectly appropriate game for it. Double dragon on the nes really good game but in my opinion not quite as good as the one on the Sega Master system. And maybe more than any I'd have to recommend ice hockey a truly memorable sports game for the NES that's neither too hard nor too easy.

Kirby's Adventure never gets old and is very easy to get into. And Mario 3 of course.

2: mario 1/2
3: that one baseball game
4: Tetris
5: that one cricket game
6: idk the sport but it was with a racket and it had that net like a volleyball net.

In addition to the Super Mario Bros. series, Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!, Kung Fu, Tecmo Bowl, Tecmo Super Bowl, Bases Loaded I and II, Baseball Simulator 1.000, Double Dragon II and Dragon Spirit as among my favorites, I recommend Tecmo NBA Basketball (which has Jordan, Bird, The “Bad Boy” Detroit Pistons, etc.), Tiny Toon Adventures, Jackal, Rush N Attack and Batman. I was born in 1989, but thanks to having a brother who was born in 82 and grew up with the NES, I love that system so much. SNES and PS2 are my favs tho!!

Dragon Warrior series. Duck hunt and FF1 are the ones I got my kids playing.

I randomly tried Adventures of Lolo & got hooked real good. Might not have a ton of nostalgia for the. NES was a console I never owned & only played at a cousin's house, my parents were smart & waited for SNES to get me my own console.

This is to say I don't have a collection currently, but there are a few titles I've found out about recently (Crash N The Boys) that I want to play & hasn't been ported. So I may need to start a small collection soon.

Nintendo NES has to be games of all time and feels good to play still. Examples Tetris, Ninja Turtles, Ninja Gaiden, Mario 1 2 and 3, Exitebike, Pro Am, Punch Out, Contra, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Solomon's key... why they were good and still are : puzzles, pattern that work your brain and no politics "message"; pure entertainment!

For a sports title, I would choose either Super Spike V-Ball or Blades of Steel for a good entry-level game. And I like Lolo a lot, but for beginners I would say something like Bomberman 2 would have more appeal as a top-down strategy game. It’s super fun still.

Captain Skyhawk and Blaster Master were 2 that I loved as single games. Obvious the Mario series and Contra were better. But it’s sad how Captain Skyhawk was forgotten. It’s simple but really fun

I love Bayou Billy!! Retro Bird, you hurt my feelings!!😢 I’m just kidding! 😂 But seriously, I can see how it can turn off some people, but I would seriously put it in a top 20 list if I made one of the best NES games. It has great cutscenes, an awesome jungle-like soundtrack, Gordon’s laugh, a practice mode, and a variety of levels, including street-fighting, driving, and shooting. But you’re right, I’m used to people saying it’s not a great game, but that’s okay. But I would recommend to anyone Kirby’s Adventure. It’s much easier than most of its NES brethren, but still challenging, it’s got great graphics for the NES, and it’s a lot of fun to float and get enemies’ abilities. I could mention so many more, like Tetris, Mario 3, etc, The NES probably had the greatest library of great games (at least IMO).

Bayou Billy maybe a "bad" game but one is undebatable and that is Bayou Billy has bad ass box art like DOUBLE DRAGON 2&3.
