What really bothers me about extinct animals is, most of them seem to have a very unique look to them compared to other animals they are related to.

Honorable mentions: Archelon (giant sea turtle), Paraceratherium (massive relative of rhinos with a giraffe-like neck), Paleoloxodon (Asian straight-tusked elephant, tied with Paraceratherium as the largest land animal to have ever existed), Panthera atrox(known as the American lion, but more closely related to the jaguar), and Titanoboa(as its name implies, a gargantuan boa constrictor).
