2019 Nissan 370Z | This IS the End

We review the New/OLD Nissan 370Z 50th Anniversary Edition to highlight all the good and bad of the tried and true Japanese Sportscar. Sadly this car has not evolved much which is also part of the charm. While other automakers have pushed the boundaries of affordable fun driving in the past 10 years Nissan still holds onto to the 370Z. Would you choose a 370z over a Civic Type R, Subaru STI, VW Golf, Veloster N, Mazda Miata, Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro?

Everyone: I wish they still made simple, affordable, reliable sports cars with enough horsepower and not too much tech... oh and a manual gearbox is a must.
Nissan: 370z
Everyone: Eeeew, it’s old and simple and there’s not enough tech.
Nissan: 🤦🏾‍♂️

Nissan so rich that they treated the over manufacturing of the 370 like an annoying Spotify subscription they keep forgetting to cancel for the past 6 years

The cool thing about these Z cars are that they are actually some of the last analog driving experiences you can have these days - Straight up NA engine, Manual gear box, RWD and go! Plain and Simple!

The 50th Anniversary Jump The Shark edition is here. I predict collectors will see a HUGE appreciation in value within the next 300 years.

As with all Z's and many other Japanese sports cars, this car is not meant to be driven stock forever. Nissan intended to provide a solid platform for aftermarket development. They're one of the best manufacturers in my opinion because they've always made enthusiast cars with the good old japanese aftermarket community in mind. It's not supposed to be a luxury car or a super car. It's meant to be the foundation that you build your own dream car on.

I bought my 370Z new in 2009. Honestly, it's been a great car. Haven't tracked it but it is a blast to drive on back roads, and as a daily driver, it's been nothing but reliable. A set a Michelin Pilot Sport 4s to replace the OEM tires, regular fluid changes, and that's been it for maintenance. Still on the original battery, which hasn't skipped a beat despite the fact that I don't drive the car in the winter and my garage is unheated. Try that in a Porsche...I've seen flat batteries in cars sitting in the showroom. Anyway, if you appreciate real wheel drive, naturally aspirated engines, hydraulic steering, a good manual transmission (funny how everyone from BMW to Porsche has adopted Nissan's rev match feature), and a supple and well balanced chassis, this is a car to recommend. Sure, the competition has upped its game in the last decade, but I have no regrets about my purchase. And to mix things up a bit, my other vehicle is an STi, which is equally fun, but a very different proposition. Two cars that have used the same formula for a long time, but still are engaging drives.

Jack, you're getting better with time like a fine wine. Glad you're keeping this channel alive!
Best of luck to Mr. Goose himself, hopefully everything is all right.

I'm a huge fan of this car, but this color combo looks like shit tbh

Hey Jack, !
Great review man. Leaps and bounds ahead of the last one. You can tell you're feeling a lot more comfortable/relaxed and opening up the camera. It really shows.
Keep up the good work man.

Some input from a Z owner:

-No car is perfect from the factory.
-Aftermarket can be limited for some cars. For the Z, that is not so and tons of mod parts. You can truly make this thing a beast of a car if you're willing to learn how.
-This car even in it's past generation has such enormous potential as a sports car platform from drag to drift to road course racing.
-Most people change the wheels and tire combos anyway to eliminate said understeer although oversteer can be a bit violent in this car. Learn your car and you wont have an issue.
-This car can be made to be frickin fast and my Z in its current stage handles like a dream. I've driven some exotics and was not impressed in comparison.
-The sound can be tuned and changed with quality, keyword quality, exhaust parts. Don't slap cheap parts on this car and expect it to be amazing.
-This car was designed with the enthusiast and tuner in mind. Basically, it's a blank canvas for people that like to tweak and modify their cars. There's nothing wrong with keeping it OEM, but you're doing the car injustice.
-The Z platform is such a blast to drive on the track once you've made it your own by tuning engine, suspension, etc. to meet your needs for motorsport.

I can go on but I'll leave everyone with this to ponder on. Best way to really get a feel for what this car is or what it can become is to go to a Z group car meet. You'll see a variety of Z's and possibly get a ride in one from naturally aspirated road course swiss army knife to twin turbo drag racing monsters. The sky is the limit with this platform.

As for the 50th anniversary color combo, Nissan was definitely drinking that night or smoking the good stuff when drafting the designs. :/

I think most of the commentators missed it...he's impersonating the normal guy, talking the way he does, using the same phrases, same body language, and he did a great job impersonating him.

When Nissan Executive said they didn't know these were still being made, I laughed for about an hour.

Not a bad Mark impersonation. "Despite not having a digital readout I still know how fast I'm going." lmao
