Don’t use tempered glass screen I use a matte film screen protector on my kindle paperwhite for years and it doesn’t have no glare at all, and it also protect the glass not getting scratched up in my purse if I decide to take it with me without a case. I also use it on my iPad because i also get a lot of glare from the lighting in my home and it does avoid the glare.

having a screen protector absolutely beats the purpose of that beautiful glare free screen...totally agree with your view...

I had an "Invisible Shield" Screen Protector on my Kindle 4th Gen, which I bought 11 years ago.
Like every Invisible Shield Protector I've seen, it contained "blemishes."
As it was in a flip case, I took the Protector off and for years (until I sold it recently, on eBay) I never had any damage to the screen.
Now I have a new Kindle Basic 10th Gen and I have no case (apart from Sleeve for travelling) and no Screen Protector either.
I also have a nice flip case, which I'm not using at the moment.
After all of these years, I've discovered that I much prefer to ride "bareback, " so far as holding the Kindle is concerned.

Thanks for sharing. I applied matte screen protector. Good thing, no glare at all just like the kindle screen with extra protection. Bad thing, it reduce your screen sharpness. So kind of ruin your kindle experience

I don't think a tempered glass protector for an e-reader makes a lot of sense, not only because of the reflection, but because of the expense. Tempered glass screen protectors are relatively expensive. The way I look at it, a case that closes magnetically will give you enough protection from something hitting the screen. If I spend more than $100 on a device, I'm not carrying the device around naked.

I *am* looking for a matte screen protector for my Kobo Libra Colour, though, not really to protect the screen, but to give the screen a little bit of texture to make writing on it easier.

Not really. How about an anti-glare aka matte screen protector? That would be worth buying though

And what about hydrogel? Its a good idea to use hydrogel protection for my kindle? Hydrogel reflects the lights too?

I got a eReader without the screen protector, after seeing your video, I am glad that I have made a wise choice.

Thanks! Because of this video I cancelled my order for a glass screen protector and opted for a matt film.
