Grenades are simple yet effective explosive devices. Basically, they are portable explosive devices with their own delay ignition system that you can readily fit into your pocket. No joke. Many grenades are small enough that you can stuff them into your pockets. Assuming that your pants are tight or the pockets are big enough. We have worked with all sorts of grenades here at Ordnance Lab. From clone correct M67 baseball grenades to 3D printed ones. Sean transferred one to himself, which he could legally carry around as a defensive weapon. How effective would it be in such a situation? Pretty marginal. The practicality of using a grenade for self-defense is beyond reasonable. But it's a sweet flex to say you have a concealed hand grenade.

On a Simple History video it was stated that the US would sabotage Vietnam ammo. In the comments they argued on how.

Basically one guy said his uncle would put C4 into ammo. So began the argument. It needs a electric charge, a blasting cap, it needs to be hit by the firing pin and so on...

One dude said maybe it wasn't C4 but RDX. Would you put this to bed and make rounds with C4, RDX and TNT in them. Perhaps Scott from KB would like to collaborate with his umm experience in over charged ammo. That would be a great collaboration.

The legal issue for a frag grenade is you are going to be responsible for ALL the damage it causes. If you fire a gun in self defense and that round over penetrate and keeps traveling or you just flat out miss you are responsible for any damage it causes even if firing that gun is completely legal. You can aim a gun and pay attention to what is behind/near it. A grenade doesn't care what it was thrown at. It is just going to send those fragments anywhere it can.
