Belizean Afro-Caribbean Food in Placencia, Belize!

During my time in Placencia, I explored the amazing world of Garifuna food, a unique cuisine that comes from local people of mixed African and Indigenous ancestry. Let’s check it out together with my friends at Taste Belize and try some delicious Garifuna food!

GARIFUNA COOKING: I met up with some locals and saw how they prepared mashed plantains and a delicious coconut-fish soup. The two dishes together are called hudut, and it’s basically Belizean comfort food!

NAIA RESORT AND RESIDENCES: After eating, we returned to our resort, where I give a quick tour of my beach house before hitting the pool and the beach!

Going to Belize in a couple of weeks…San Ignacio, Ambergris Caye and Placencia and staying at Naia. Was looking at Tastes Belize (will definitely be booking them now)! Thank you!

Wow! Nothing better than some wood fire and coal pot cooking. The food is always the sweetest. Back in the day when you get a good wood fire bread to eat with your breakfast and you eat that bread with some good goat water cooked to perfect on a coal pot.

David, I commented on another one of your videos a few days ago that I ordered 2 bottles of your hot sauce. I finally got them a couple days ago. Your hot sauce is delicious. You gotta advertise it more. Not super spicy and very tasty. I put it on everything. I already went through one bottle and the other one might not last long. I’m gonna have to order more. Just wanted to let you know. Great product.

Everything looks so delicious! I’m from Panamá and it brings so many memories of a similar dish my maternal grandmother used to cook😋
