im a hindu and why you shouldn't sleep in north is that after your death and before the cremation, the body is kept at north for the rituals. This is the death ceremony. After the cremation, the birth ceremony happens of the person happens for the next 14 days. All of this is done facing north so yeah. It brings bad meaning in your body.

Disagree with one small point. He says sweets were eaten last due to carbs. Actually olden times sweets weren't made with unhealthy maida, processed sugar. They used jaggery, pure ghee, seeds, coconut, milk etc. All these r very healthy. Hence used as prasad too. Eating them last is just a way to part/depart with sweetness.

Not sure if you know what you are talking about and understand what is scientific. What is amusing is that people who talk about something being scientific or "proven by science" have a non-science background and that is what makes makes them appear convinced about the science behind the practices. There is no doubt there are very many wholesome and sound practices in Hinduism - or at least some religions of Hinduism, because Hinduism is an umbrella of religions and not one religion.
