That's what I love about this blog, someone *always* knows the answer to any question! Awesome, thanks!

The blinker modules have some more smartness to them, they are mare for a specific minimum load and go blinking(switching) faster when the indicator light burns out.
Very handy when people expect one to not turn if their blinkers are not active.
Check out the schematic for it, it might surprise you :)

LOL!!! I did the same thing, was LMFAO at the fact it was a clam shell package he was cursing when the contents were a clam shell opener. Oh the irony...

I love how you go soooo much into details in your videos, you even took a look at the pen laser graved letters :D THAT'S how I love these videos ;) Some parts are may a bit boring for non-professional-eletronic guys like I am but still awesome! :D

Datasheets for hybrid modules:

К224СА3:

Transistor is KT814B, not KT8148. KT stands for "кремниевый транзистор", which means  "silicon tranzistor". Resistors are K120, this means 120Ohms.

The paper strips (mini post-it's) are actually quite practical (bookmarks).I used them a lot when studying. Of course now I got all the documentation/information I need on a tablet PC/iPad/Kindle.

I think the traces going back from the blinker terminals are there to determine the load from the lights, causing the rate to go faster in case the load is insufficient (i.e. one or both bulbs burned out). That's actually pretty advanced, the thermal one did this by design.

Sticky notes are also useful for marking parts, especially when tearing things apart.

I've always thought the varnish was 'actually' nail polish since it behaves the same. Best used with acetone and brush.

The irony of a blister package opener that is, itself, blister packed :P
Beauty :D

Those other cutters look to be box butters. The thin sticky-out bit goes under the box lid and you push the knife along to cut it open or cut the flaps down to make the box smaller etc. Different sized ones for different flute sizes of corrugate.

Yep...they're still around. The first time I heard of them was when I saw a license-built Bosch alternator on a Sisu diesel engine I was working on. I have a few Iskra capacitors lying around...

A cool thing to do is find an item that has those annoying heat sealed packaging, and then using an old soldering iron, only let it heat up a little, then reinforce the heat sealing (and also include a note if needed)

Great for gifts, and will ensure that you achieve maximum annoyance.

The indicator is the light in your dash or console that lets you know the lamps are flashing not the lamps themselves.

LOL...You're a riot!! Things you didn't know what they were... #1-Letter openers. #2- The "strips" are place keepers for quick reference in a manual or book they are like small sticky notes. just throw them in your desk drawer. they are both useful.

I'm in the UK also. My father used to call them winkers, but with modern swearing that's no longer acceptable. And our first car had flip up pointers that were called trafficators, on a Morris Oxford. Now they were proper engineering.

Hey, Leed's! I used to work for them for a summer job. The item itself is made in China, but the logo is put on here in Pittsburgh.

the post-it like strips are perfect when in school and you want to color code a book for easy finding the right page

Hey Dave I might be a bit late, but when engraving pens, the pen is rotated and the laser stays on a fixed axis as you originally guessed.

A common slang term is blinker in the US. Manufacturers such as Harley Davidson refer to the switch as turn signal switch activating turn signal lamps and turn signal indicators.

Call them blinkers here in Missouri. Love the show!
