DO YOU REMEMBER that good old southern cooking?
If you learn to cook like my mama and granny, you will become one of the best Southern cooks. Thank you so much for being a part of this dream of mine.
NOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE:
Pork Sausage & Cabbage (recipe is in our Vol. 3 Cookbook)
1 PACKAGE OF LINK PORK SAUSAGE (I USE WHATS ON SALE)
1 MEDIUM CABBAGE (CUT INTO LARGE CHUNKS)
1 MEDIUM ONION (SLICED)
1 TSP. SALT
1/2 TSP. PEPPER
Slice sausage into round disks, 1/4 “thick. Place in a preheated skillet with onions and sauté until the sausage is golden brown with color. If you use a less fatty sausage, add 2 tbsp. olive oil to your skillet. Once the sausage is brown and the onion is soft, take them out of the skillet and place in a bowl and set aside. Drain oil from skillet, reserving it in a glass measuring cup. Put about 1/4 cup of the oil back in the skillet and add cabbage. Cook on medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the sausage and onion, continue cooking until cabbage softens.

I bought a couple of stones to sharpen my knives after years of struggling with dull blades and what a difference. It only takes a couple of swipes to sharpen them. What a delight.

You can sharpen a knife on the bottom of a ceramic coffee cup.

Cabbage went out of fashion in England but is now back popular again. My Mum used to grow them back in the 50s and 60s and we had so much growing up. Its delish

We just arrived back in Florida after some weeks in the North with our kids/grandkids so I had to catch up on your videos! Cabbage!! Sausage!! Peppers!! Onions!! My daughter-in-law cooked a very similar farewell supper for us with these ingredients. She also had a side dish of pierogis. Delicious, and I loved watching you cook it all.

I am a wood carver. My wife has knives she has to watch she doesn’t cut a finger to the bone, thru nerve and tendon, like I did. Her knives are sharp. She never has an issue. Sharp knives are better than dull knives!
