In this video we look inside of my old Timex Ironman Watch (1986 Version). I really thought it would be a quick video with just a look inside and see if it would still work, but I had forgotten it was something that needed a small repair from long ago....

Hi.. A question on this watch. After battery change my alarm beeps are not sounding. The icon appears on screen but there is no sound. I have searched the internet carefully. Some suggestions included turning the back cover 180 degrees or making sure a small spring that connects the circuit board to the back cover wasn't lost during the repair. However, this model doesn't have a spring. It has prongs on the battery cover that stick up and touch the back cover. I have tried to assure that the prongs do in fact touch the back cover, but I still can't the watch to beep. Any suggestions??

I also have same watch. I have no information about it but at here i could find out. Hope that our watch can run for a long long time! . By the way do you know where can you buy the watch strap for this?

Hi, I have a question, but it's not about the ironman. It's about the EGO battery powered leaf blower's electronics. I'm trying to power it without the battery. The backpack has 3 connections. Red, Black, and a thin purple wire. I know the red and black carry the 5A 56V but I don't know 2 things, what the purple wire is for (3rd connection to the battery) and if its AC or DC (I expect DC). I've put 45VDC on the red and black leads but the motor does not spin. I suspect the purple wire needs something. You seam pretty smart about this stuff. Any ideas?

That variable capacitor actually adjusts the speed of the watch in relation to the quartz crystal oscillator. You can adjust for accuracy if the watch is running fast or slow.
Turing it clockwise speeds it up. Counter-clockwise slows it down. [About 1/6 turn per second a "day".]
I've got the 1984 Triathlon that I've been using for about 37 years (before the Ironman came out) because of the accuracy I can set it to. I recently bought a new Timex and it's crap -- no adjuster (off by 40 secs a month) and China-cheap quality (plastic window, no return springs in buttons, etc.). Nope! -- they don't make them like they used to! -- so it's back to using the Triathlon for me. Anyway, someone should make a video on the adjuster because the public is simply ignorant of it -- and it's difficult find any info on it.
