With so many church denominations, why do they seem so divided about what to believe? #Shorts

I love the disagreement part. Not only do various groups have completely opposite doctrine, some believe if you are not part of their specific group, you are not (or vary unlikely) even saved.

This is what happens when humans assign secondary and tertiary issues a status of primary importance. Major on the majors. Minor in the minors. Where the Bible yells, yell. Where the Bible whispers, whisper. Where the Bible is silent, be silent.

The irony is they all claim to have the so called “holy spirt”.

So we agree that there can't be a true objective standard because apparently a lot is open to subjective interpretation that should be obvious if we had something clear and obvious to compare against?

I've never heard this explained so well. Thank you.

When we focus on things other than Jesus Christ, we lose focus on the most important things. The Love of our Creator. His absolute mercy in sending Christ to die for us in our stead. We lose focus on exactly what happened on the cross, the tomb and where Christ is now. ( The right hand of God) And we lose understanding on exactly who The Holy Spirit is and how he intercedes for us on a daily basis.

It’s a poor argument to say multiple denominations existing is somehow a negative reflection on Christianity. The whole population of scientists, doctors or any specialized field don’t all agree about everything all the time and yet no one discredits their field of expertise or beliefs for it. This is just another baseless accusation to throw at Christianity by people who don’t like Christianity.

Which is why I find no allegiance to any denomination...

Lifelong protestant, considering moving to Catholicism, I would agree with this. All of the down to earth, socially conservative Christians I know have very similar worldviews. Despite having radically different religious beliefs. Despite many of the different practices, we have our come to similar conclusions.

Really wish people would stop using the term protestant to describe all none catholics because that's a CC term to PERPETUATES a FALSE CC NARRATIVE. Christianity precedes the CC by 300+ years. So some Christians were catholic not vice-versa.

It's not always about disagreement. Many denominations are differentiated by geographic region, language, worship style, and dress codes. According to a quick google there are only 12 major denominations - and most of the 1000's of denoms fit somewhere within those 12.

The term dissagreement has become dangerous that people hurt people and even children

It's not a disagreement when its creedale differences. That means one side says your going to hell, and you say they are going to hell.

The biggest issue is that no one is actually seeing what God wants because if we did we would understand that it was never designed to have more than one church / body and commanded us to all speak the same things

I wish it was easy to figure out how to worship god in the most pure way possible. I think about living in ancient Isreal and how there was one way and I appreciate it.

Because we are being fractured in every part of our lives. And it started in the church FIRST

In some cases, denominations are about minor things when the major things are agreed upon. for example, some people prefer to sing hymns. some prefer more modern music either way. they still believe in the Bible as written. it's sort of like thinking that an individual who prefers the color purple in another individual who prefers the color pink come from completely different trains of thought when they just have preferences on wearing certain colors

There won’t be as much divide if we studied the bible and set aside tradition. I can tell you now the majority denominations up hold tradition instead making the bible and it’s holy scriptures standard.
