Python: Read and Write to Files

I programmed in the 80's and 90's and I would come up with little programs that would be helpful to me. I haven't written code in many years but I did prompt a few programs to help me at work and personal life. I'm not programming, but it helps to know the basics of what is happening.

I used the While True lab exercise on my chatgpt created csv file and while I avoided using the with open 'a' i got some funky results when using the 'r' with open... even without specifically saying if I queried say their age (30) it would give me everyone under that age but not above. I have no idea what's going on but I'm enjoying myself

One small critical point always wrap with read in a try except with a catch for bad encoding and bad files

Yeah I need to know how to put the stuff we're learning into practice, the labs are good for getting me to write the code but understanding how it all connects to a larger program I just have no idea. I've tried fiddling with a few of the labs to add my own code to alter them slightly but again, no idea really what I'm doing, doesn't work most of the time and I don't know if it's because it's just wrong or because it's written wrong as in the idea is right but it's not using the code correctly. The last few intro classes have been great though, hopefully I can show up in person once I catch up
