WEIGHT TESTING - Ping G425 Max Driver

In this video I test the new Ping G425 Max Driver and possibly the difference the 26 gram tungsten weight makes to the ball flight when positioned in the three different locations. The G425 driver now features a much small weight track in comparison the G410 so I'm interested to see if it still has the same amount of influence to the ball flight. Find out......

It's really great that you've now done a few videos on the G425's, demonstrating some of the finer details. As one who has one on order (coming from G400 LST), I could watch these all day.

My G410 LST has the weight on the toe and it definitely mitigates left misses. I'm going to give the G425 MAX a go for ultimate forgiveness with the same fade biased flight. Great video.

Very informative. The more I read about the G425 max, the more I want one. Ha ha.

⛳⛳ Out of all the offerings this year... I'm loving PING. Most forgiving with good spin rates. To be honest the three offerings from Callaway are a bit confusing to me as far as what type of golfer each offering is targeted to ⛳⛳

That was pretty definitive. Understand that your path and face are the biggest influence but the weight is having an effect.
I was leaning towards TSi for my new driver but Ping 425 has changed my mind. Will get a fitting as soon as possible !

I've moved my weight into the heel and flying straight as an arrow no more fighting it going right loving it

Keep the new intro. I like it!

I would like to see you hit it against LST with weight in the toe/fade position and the hosel set in the upright position. I think you’ll be bombing center fairway 320.

Thanks. I’m keen to see the same in the new Callaway drivers pls.

Cool vid…I’d love to see you optimize this club for you and walk us through it. Order some weight configurations from PING (lighter/heavier), hot melt or put some cotton to mute the sound, try some different shafts, and toy with the settings. See where you end up since you have such a consistent delivery - I bet you could find another 10-15 yards and make this club all “yours”.

Thanks Michael, you've produced a great video here! I recently noticed that my G425 Max 10.5 Alta 55 has been supplied with a 29g weight, not a 26g weight. I notice that other weights are available to purchase, do you have any specific advice for a regular swing-speed, mid-high handicapper?

Thanks in advance, much appreciated!

Surely playing around with the lie angle would also influence the direction of the ball flight almost as much as moving the weight. I really like the new Ping Max driver, but I can’t imagine there’d be any more distance gains than my Ping G driver, so for now I think I’ll save my money, I don’t need more new clubs sitting in the cupboard that I can’t use due to lockdown 👍

Good Evening. I wanted to know if I have g series Ping Driver and I want to adjust it for my 9 year old ! What advise can you offer me regarding the length

Since your face angle was 2.5 closed to the target line in the fade setting but your shots all went right that would mean your club path had to be out to in quite a bit, correct? I didn't see the club data but you could have adjusted unknowingly to the changes in the CG.

Interesting video. Would be curious to know how the weight in the Draw position on the Max would compare to the SFT.

Looks like the positions are fixed, meaning the weight is all the way one way or the other? No sliding the weight in between?

So what if I add the difference between G410 moveable weight and the G425 moveable weight, was it 6 grams? So like putting some lead tape on the screw and move the weight on the G410 to the draw setting will I see an even bigger effect then on reducing the slice?

mangelarsson

But how will that effect in the lst as the weights slightly lighter isn’t it?

Mike what’s your thoughts on adding an extra weight to the G410, one in the middle and one in the fade/draw, bias, then perhaps counterbalancing the shaft?
