Within These Walls: Overexcited in the recroom! (Clip from ep. ‘Inside Out’, with PCBH music added)
Показать описание
Ever wondered what vintage UK prison drama 'Within These Walls' would be like if it featured incidental music - and particularly the same incidental music as vintage Australian prison drama 'Prisoner Cell Block H'?! Well, wonder no longer…
In this clip from the Series 3 episode 'Inside Out', we see some comic relief in an otherwise depressing story primarily focused on domestic abuse. Privileged inmate Lettice Nayland likes to question convention. A committed (if rather ineffective) animal rights activist, Lettice also likes to challenge social norms around clothing and appearance, permanently decking herself out in a plain, black jogging suit. One evening, when some of the younger inmates in the recroom ask her why she always dresses likes she does, Lettice gives them a lecture on the restrictive nature of clothes and fashion, and how, in an ideal society, everybody would just be naked. But two of the women, Elfie and Molly, take to the idea of shedding their gear a little too eagerly - much to the staffs' exasperation...
With 'PCBH' library music added for effect (track: ‘Thug’ followed by ‘Foiled Again’, both by Brian Bennett, from the Bruton Music LP ‘Drama Montage’)!
Scene features (in order of first speaking/appearance): Elissa Derwent (as Molly Ward); Sheila Keith (as Lettice Nayland); Jane Goddard (as Elfie Shields); Marguerite Hardiman (as Nita Pacci); Sonia Graham (as Martha Parrish); Elaine Wells (as Officer Meg Spencer); Mona Bruce (as Mrs Armitage); Lizzie McKenzie (as Maisie Tipping; here non-speaking); Diana Berriman (as Julie Hopkins; here non-speaking); and Jerome Willis (as Charles Radley).

The episode ‘Inside Out’ is available in full on the 'Within These Walls' DVD boxset, released by Network on Air.
