Just wondering, why do the oil tankers or oil companies not have any team for this? It's always the government/civilians who're trying to clean their mess

Classic government response... we are still confirming if the oil you see with your own eyes is in fact oil.

Is this ship one of the Russian shadow fleet that smuggles oil without any insurance?

This oil spill is worst than Chinese coast guards bullying . There’s no place for Pinoy fishermen to fish now!

I don’t see them doing anything. Where are the divers? Where is the siphon ship? The spill is definitely worse than what the coast guards are saying. Keep up the clean up work.

This country is cursed by disasters, both natural and man made.

This is just big b...s..., those oil companies make enough money.
The government should just take empty tankers from the oil industry and suck up all that spill with the seawater with huge pumps into their tanks and balast chambers. The cost is for the oil industry. And it's the oil industry their responsibility afterwards to isolate/ separate the oil from the seawater.
It seems from here, the efforts which are been done, are those of "as cheap as possible" and " let's do something just to keep public opinion calm".

And just 4 days ago (25 Jun 24), there was an oil spill in nearby Singapore. It came from a Netherlands registered ship. 400 ton of oil spilled into the sea.

_”sealed 14 of the valves, including those that were not leaking.”_
That doesn’t say much.
How many valves are there total? How many are/were leaking?

We need to use less oil. It's problem after problem.

The oil tanker's company should have directed their vessel away from the typhoon. Now that company should pay for cleanup, and to feed the fishermen.
