I'm in Northern Idaho and this is a popular regional dipping sauce that we call Idaho Fry Sauce. It's very similar to Thousand Island Dressing and it makes a great dipping sauce for pretty much anything you would normally have ketchup with. The most basic version can be mixed on your plate by using 3 parts mayonnaise to 1 part ketchup but other ingredients do make it more interesting.
