Ben: “Scandinavia is great because it’s capitalist”
Social Dems: “Okay so let’s make our version of capitalism more like theirs.”
Ben: “No that’s communism”

You have to do some serious cherry picking to make Norway look weak compared to pretty much any country. Norway is a very rich, peaceful, democratic, politically stable country with very high living standards, social security and generally low inequality. So excuse me if it is used as an example of a successful country and a successful model?

Yes, Norway is a Marxist paradise and the King of Norway leads the procession with a huge painting of Lenin on the 1st of May. Right.

Has anyone ever noticed how according to conservatives the Scandinavian countries always have great social homogeneity, except when the conservative argument needs to tell the story of them being overrun by Muslim immigrants?

Ben should try debating actual liberals as opposed to the hypothetical "neo-marxist sjw" in his head.

Ben always says facts don't care about your feelings. Then he always goes on about his feelings.

Ben gets confronted with the success of Nordic Model social democracy and just falls back on the old MUH VUVUZELA argument as if it's relevant lmao

"60 to 80 years"
So cute.
Germany had their social safety net introduced in the 80s... the 1880s that is or over 130 years ago.
Yes Germany had their downfalls in that time, but never due to the social safety net, but due to right wing war hawks.

Not sure if it was Shapiro, but you actually hear from right wingers that Hitler and the nazis introduced universal health care in Germany.
Nazis came to power in 1933 or 40-50 years after Germany got universal health care. (Introduced by a conservative by the way)

This is like claiming Obama created NASA.

Ben Shapiro is a fast-talking, articulate liar.

There doesn't seem to be any difference between Shapiro's political arguments and his religious ones. Basically straw-man everything.

Um, they have subsidized day care in every Scandinavian country (free in some of them, but I can't remember if Norway is one of those). So if those women wanted to work, they could.

Maybe when you give women the option to stay home with their kids without worrying about how they're going to pay their bills, a decent number of women decide to stay home with their kids. And taking a long break from the workforce like that does lead to them not advancing as far in careers as women that stay in the workforce the entire time.

Conservatives are always going on about how women should stay home with their kids and then when given the choice a decent number of women do so, they get upset? Shouldn't they be crowing about how they knew women just want to be stay-at-home mothers?

And no, not every woman wants to stay home. There's still plenty of women that continue to work and even some men that opt to stay home with the kids while their wives work (not very many of the latter, but they do exist). Why shouldn't they have the freedom to make that choice?

Glad to see you tackling political topics. In addition, Germany also has social safety nets, but they have 19% foreign-born population. None of that stops them from guaranteeing healthcare and reducing inequality.

Um, the conservatives have control of Norway's Parliament since 2013. It's a minority coalition (Labour has maintained the largest party share of Parliament, but not enough to form a government), but the conservatives still control the Cabinet and, through the coalition, the Parliament. If anything, Shapiro should be cheering about how conservatives are currently running Norway (and Finland and looking like they might win in Sweden as well).

But Scandinavian conservatives are still further left than US Democrats, so maybe that's why Shapiro won't acknowledge them.

Edit: The Norwegian *Conservative* Immigration Minister - Shapiro forgot to mention that part...

Let me just point out that Germany *_invented_* the social welfare state - in fact, German conservative Otto von Bismarck did (the same guy responsible for the existence of Germany as a nation state in the first place).
And yet, it seems Germany is still better off economically than the US.
You know, Ben, I think there are some holes in your logic.
