I had Covid in May 2023 and since then I have had high blood pressure (with AND without tachycardia) which seems to be related to Covid dysautonomia. It manifests itself after stress but also after physical and mental effort and during digestion, especially a greater intake of fat or sugar and it reduces with the use of clonazepam.

I see a lot of discussions about hypotension related to post-covid disautonomy, not many about fluctuations in blood pressure, as is my case. My blood pressure is normal most of the time, but between 1 and 3 times a day I have hypertensive peaks that last a maximum of an hour (if I take clonazepam) to 3 hours if I don't take it.

I feel like it's destroying my heart, I played sports every day, I'm trying pacing now, and my diet tends to be balanced, even though I still consume a lot of good quality fat.

Its easier said than done but i think he’s exact correct! We must find our own journey to peace and tranquillity. We must no 1 lose FEAR. Its fear thats the driver. A vicious cycle

The less sever cases are 6-9 months. What do you say to the more sever people. Most everyone I know including myself is well past 12 months and not back to work?

Thank you for this encouragement. I truly needed it now. I wished doctors would look at this. I have a past history of depression and anxiety i know the difference. This was not depression until I kept getting no results and they kept stating "well you do have a history of depression" yes i do im not embarrassed or ashamed and after 45+ yrs dealing with variations i know the difference. My cardiologist pa put 'probable autonomic dysfunction ' when my actual cardiologist told me thats whats going on since i have gastroperisise and a bunch of other things. I was never this bad before my 2nd covid diagnosis last Aug. Then i just got it again in April! They won't give me boosters or flu/pneumonia shots because I'm always sick! I feel so alone.

I was wondering what can be done to help someone who has it but does not get better and seems to have it permanently and it slowly is escalating in severity, not to the point of death but collapsing when unable to gain control of the symptoms in the moment of attack. I have had for going on 5 years now and no signs of it going away any time soon. Thank you.

Does this cause blood pressure to drop also? Is it mimicking pots/dystaunomia symptoms?

How could covid affect someone with autonomic dysfunction already. I have multiple TBIs and this is a huge problem for me without covid that’ll be with me forever. I wonder if covid can make it worse

Hi, I have autonomic dysfunction, but not from covid. I have small fiber neuropathy...could neuropathy be the reason? I also have Ehlers Danlos III & Dystonia. I'd love to hear your thoughts! I often wonder how my autonomic nervous system affects my dystonia episodes. I am on klonopin for dystonia so do not feel anxious. I am also on disability so don't have the pressure of work...curious to hear your thoughts.

What evidence do you have that this is a dysfunction? The person may be reacting to a real threat, but one that is hidden. People around the person wanting to do them harm. This is written off by psychiatrists as delusion but the fact remains that there is a fight or flight response and that can't happen just by thinking.
