Nice 2 know:
Afk spot: you doesn't need an afk spot, if your base is located on top of the farm, cause then you're probably always near the farm. The farm works as long as you're closer than 128 blocks to the farm.
Y level: you can make layers from y -59 to y 40. Be aware of you make a lot of layers, then there can't be more than 128 blocks to the layers, cause then there won't spawn slimes at all layers

TIPS!!

There is a simpler method of finding the slime chunk.
By using the same website you can type in /seed in your world to get the seed of, well, your world. Copy+paste the seed into the website and you're done. This also works for multiplayer servers unlike the other method.

So I don’t know if mechanics have changed with recent updates but I had no luck with an afk spot as decided in the video. I was getting rates of around one stack per hour.
My first spawn layer was at level 39 and I had the whole chunk exposed to the air.
I’ve since tried building an afk platform at around level 124 and rates have sky rocketed!
I’m currently 45 minutes into an hour test and have 11 stacks of balls so far!

Tip that really increase amount of slimes -> Mine whole chunk so there is no blocks above last layer of yours. I have 6 layers while having two slime chunks connected to each other and its really insane. It just really take a lot of time even with haste II and Ef V to mine. But really worht it + of course you need to light all the caves around farm.

For people who cant get slimes to spawn - removing most of the torches seemed to help. I just put one torch in the back two corners and one by the iron golem. (Slimes need light level 7 or lower to spawn)

Also spawn proofing significantly helped

might be able to squeeze more layers in if you use half slabs since you only need 2 and a half blocks for large ones to spawn in. also need to be really careful when setting up an afk spot underground since there could be numerous dark caves there that could have been hindering your spawn rate

it will be faster at killing them if u use soul campfires. Since they do double the damage of a normal camp fire

Since the y-levels have gotten deeper, does the height that this farm is built need to change? Like can there be more layers deeper for more slimes to spawn? Because the wiki just says they spawn below y level 40

If it doesn't work for you, try afk'ing between Y: -60 and -63. At least i got 3 slime balls in 8 min approx.

chunkbase doesnt work i located the chunk and it isnt a real chunk i afked for ike 30 minutes and it didnt sšawn i made the famr perfectly i think that my server is broken

Hey man! The slime chunks runs into a underwater cave, would it be a problem to skip some lower layers and go higher? Let's say my killing room is at the height 5 but my first layer is at 15
