It too has changed the way i program and learn software development. Being an Electronics Undergrad the linux shell scirptinh was fun to learn on it. Must have thing for any tech geek.

Recommendation: get the pironman 5 case for it. It allows you to boot from an actual ssd which makes the pi much faster and you get much better cooling and full size HDMI. Expensive case but it gives the pi lots of functionality.

Funny video, but glad that you did this as it might be an inspiration for others to begin tinkering with new things. We have all been beginners and I think that you should not try to rush away but maybe have a goal for a project that is reasonable hard. Brake it down into smaller parts and do documentation on what you did and how as you might be forced to start from beginning with some parts. I know by my own experience that it is easy to buy stuff but much harder to find time and sit down and focus on one thing. I think you should do a blog for your time at the pi.

Man! I can relate to your thinking system so much! Much of it comes from age and generation in my case, I guess. Difference is I was majored in Electronics and have less developer skills! What you felt on Electronics part I feel on software development part!
