Scaling your startup: Why I wrote run frictionless (and how you can run frictionless)

run frictionless began in 2016 as a set of notes I would casually hand to customers to read before we began work. One afternoon a customer confronted me and asked ‘have you considered publishing the notes and putting them on Amazon’?
Of course, we hadn't. Frankly, the notes were rough and an editor hadn't been appointed.
But I thought it was rather a good idea. Even in an unedited state, people found the notes useful.
So, I appointed a few people to help me condense a large, beta manuscript, into something more consumable.
Today, run_frictionless is a slim, 5 x 8 inch easy-to-carry book you can digest in a single afternoon.
It is easy-to-read. In a single afternoon you will learn how to scale up your startup. The book was written so that those who don't have a background in sales or marketing, can open the book to a page and begin reading.
We standardized words and phrases used regularly. These appear in a glossary and we encourage the reader to reference the glossary, so that myself (the author) and you as the reader, are on the same page.
We tested extensively. During beta testing, we invited groups to read and review the book from a variety of backgrounds. Seasoned marketers and newbies alike. Folks from internet startups, accelerators, medical clinics and hotels. They told us the moment they turned to the first chapter, they began scribbling notes. They found it easy to connect what was written on the page, with their business.
