Been going to pattaya since 1994 for my 3, 5week holydays, have good times with the bargirls,
Make good memorys during my stay there, so i can deal with live in the west, i know the deal,
No money, no honey, after 3, 5 weeks i am contented to go home, i stayed there with a good budget,
No crazy throwing money around, but for a single guy price quality is great in pattaya.
Is it not a good thing that the sex industry is concentrated in a place like pattaya ?So other places in thailand dont have to deal with it.
Moving to thailand is not the same as what i do, i am in holyday mode, if you live there you have to deal with the corruption, constant heat, communiction problems, traffic, nagging live in girlfriends or wifes, no thanks.

A good friend has been living in Pattaya for close to 10 years (bar owner) and he has never had a real Thai girl friend. He prefers to pay for their time and move on. He often has girls offering their services for free and wanting to give up the game and move in with him, but he has always insisted on paying for their services and making sure none can can get their hooks in. 5 days in Pattaya is 3 days too many for me, but he seems to have a great life there.

The one thing alot of expats always mention is how addicting Thailand is. I meet SO many guys that say shit I only wanted to stay here 1/2 years. Lol 15 years later still here. But like scott said its not just the women its also the relaxed lifestyle that you cannot find anywhere in the US.

The best advice I got in Thailand about Thai ladies was actually from a mamasan I'd known for years. She said "Just remember this above all. Thai lady love farang 50% of the time but truly love Thai baht 100% of the time." I.E. no money no honey

Your advice is good. There's too much focus by people on 'women' in Pattaya, you can get involved in that if you want but there are also hundreds of other things to do. North Pattaya and Jomtien beaches are great, hundreds of bars of ALL types, water parks, hundreds of restaurants. You can get a boat to Ko Samet 2 hours drive away, Bangkok is also only a couple of hours away as are numerous other nice towns and beaches.

I'm from England and I'm going back just because I can't stand the heat. Had a great time in Thailand, Got myself a great wife from the bar. Married 7 years. Shes doing well with internet business & blogging.
So It's back to England. I am sure we will be back for many vacations.

Vietnam and the Philippines are still open for business. Just because Thailand wants to make life difficult for its benefactors, is no reason to leave Asia completely. There are always other places. An economic downturn is always a reliable way of insuring that authorities are more reasonable with their restrictions. The average expat makes at least four times what the average Thai makes. That money is spent here and is part of the local economy. Thailand is moving toward a North Korean model with its ridiculous rules for expats. Glad that I have options. Vietnam and the Philippines want your money. Thailand is banking on China. Let them have it.
