A quick tutorial on methods for importing contacts into Google Contacts form other address books

This video is awesome! I culled through at least a dozen videos before finding yours. The other tutorial showed only how to import the contacts name and email address (and maybe a phone number). This is great! I'd figured a lot of it out, but you filled in so many blanks! I still have one question about dates. I set up a new significant date field with the label "Start Date" and added a date to the data field 12/1 before doing the export so it is included in the column headings. Also put a date in Birthday. Added rows with contacts including both dates as mapped in the down load... Birthday uploads perfectly, Start Date, not so much. It comes up in Contacts as a 5 digit number. I would love to know what I'm doing wrong!!! Thanks :)

why why why why is there no field for damn phone numbers . Unbelievable. why is it so impossible to get the phone numbers to trasfer over or upload.

Actually, when I went back and simply uploaded the csv it worked fine. Success if a good thing!

But google contact spreadsheet does not have a cell phone, email, etc... how do you do that?

I agree. Video was awesome. However. after I exported the google template, copied the excel categories that I wanted (basically name and email) into a csv file, I imported it to google contacts and opened it. Everything is blank. If I click on a "blank", the identifying information that I imported shows up at the bottom of the screen and the menu items of name, photo, nick name, job title, company, email are all blank. What did I do wrong?Thanks

I have watched and googled so many times on how to find out where to add just the simple information into this template...Screenshots of where or which field to add the phone number and email would be so helpful. There are tons of videos on how to upload the excel csv file to gmail but dang it how can I get the info to upload correctly would be so awesome. That template is a bunch of nonsense and I could hardly see your tabs and still don't know where to load my information so that it will load correctly. I have been working on this for days now...anyone figure this out yet?!

Thank you for the great video. I have a problem I have imported google contacts as csv but instead of going into contacts folder it goes under labels. How to solve this issue. I have around 1500 contacts how to get them under contacts folder?

How would I important a Excel sheet of contacts into apple product (i.e. iphone contacts) as I have to take physical business card info and put into my work iPhone. I have an excellent sheet with name, phone, address, POC that I would like to have in my iPhone contact or Outlook (but I do not have may emails). I would love you recommendation and a tutorial.
