Join me for a day in the life of a doctor! Today I'm on the cardiology ward in the hospital, seeing patients with heart failure and irregular heart beats - one requires a shock to the heart (electrical cardioversion)!

HUGE THANK YOU to the medical team and cardiologist for participating in this video!

My dad was one of your patients this week. Old stubborn Irish guy with a daughter named Siobhain too. When I told him that he met a youtuber I followed he felt pretty special! He said you were great btw.

I have always thought cardiology was one of the hardest things to learn! Get it girl!

I was diagnosed with a-fib in 2011 and have been through 18 cardioversions and 2 cardiac ablations. It's been 4 1/2 years since I've had an episode. Thank you for spotlighting such an important and misunderstood condition. We need more doctors like you.

Have you ever treated someone who recognised you?

I've never seen a more happy, relaxed doctor in my life.

I am a Nurse Practitioner and I love watching your videos! I work outpatient currently, but when I was a RN I worked inpatient on a trauma unit. I love watching your journey through residency! I wish some of the MDs I had to call as an RN were as nice as you!

Great video. I can't imagine 50 extra pounds of water weight! Glad the patient is feeling better!

I’m a nurse and have worked on a ortho/neuro/trauma floor for 8 months. I love watching your videos! I work with residents practically every day. It’s fun to see your side of the interdisciplinary team!

Last year I had 50 lbs of fluid removed in 12 days. I live with dilated cardiomyopathy and appreciate everything my heart failure team does for so many of us! There is a lot for us patients to learn about ourselves too. Now I am heading back to school to enter the medical field, I’ll help others for as long as my body lets me.

I so admire cardiology. It’s amazing what they can do for the heart - such a precious organ. My dad had his first heart attack at 45. 20 years later he has a pacemaker and defibrillator implanted. It works at a reduced percentage but he’s still kicking. His father died of congestive heart failure at 68. His brother also had a heart attack young and had stents placed. Very strong family history.

I love your way of explaining things by using different things, pictures and animations! And my brain is working hard to translate everything to something that I recognize from watching Swedish workplace realities. I actually think I'm doing pretty well.

I work in a cardiac cath lab & was so overwhelmed at first, but I wouldn’t change my job for anything in the world. I love making a difference in someone’s life & actually being able to save someone that’s having a heart attack. I hope you enjoy your term in cardiology.
