Fun Fact: Spartan warriors were renowned for their distinctive red cloaks, called "phoinikis." These crimson garments not only made them easily recognizable on the battlefield but also symbolized their readiness to either come home victorious, carrying their shields, or be brought back dead on their shields, as per the warrior's code.

There were way more than just the 300 Spartans and time was their real enemy. It's why they fought to the last man. Because, whatever happened, they had to delay the Persians as much as possible. This allowed for vital areas to be evacuated while more soldiers were mobilized.

My memory's a bit foggy about the rest but, I think, in the end the Persians were done in by long supply chains.

It is happening in 21st century too. A lot of ww2 veterans are upset because people for whom they fought forgotten their sacrifices. How else they may ask for a payback?
It’s impossible!!

It doesn’t matter how brave or powerful you are. Every pact of braves from every country now a days are suffering poverty and illiteracy.

World order is changing. Be a part of it or else become a lesson for others,
That
Life is only lived once.

Respect it!!

Survivors lived to tell the tale. They said all were killed, with a familiar accent over the phone.

ALL wrong. There were approximately 7.000 Greeks at Thermopylae. Dienekes, a Spartan soldier, came up with the quote about fighting in the shade. When betrayed by Ephialtes, the 300 Spartans with their king Leonidas, 700 Thespians with their king Demophilus, and 1.100 Boeotians stayed behind to cover the retreat of the main body of the Greek army.

Thermopylae was 480 bc. 80 years before 400 bc.

It's not Leonidas that say "we'll fight in a shade", it's Dionix
