New iCloud Shared Photo Library - Coming in iOS 16

Apple just announced a big new feature at WWDC, and it's coming with iOS 16 - iCloud Shared Photo Libraries. Share a dedicated photo library tied to your Apple Family Sharing folks. Everyone can add photos manually, directly when taking photos with the Camera pp, or AI can suggest photos to be shared based on detecting when folks from your shared library are in the photo.

How is this different from shared album which is already present in iOS15 ? The photos there also do not count against your iCloud storage.

Thanks for the video. IOS 16 is here. I have followed a bunch of tutorials and set up the shared album. Still no toggle on the camera app. I ensured that the friend has updated their phone to IOS 16. He and I do not have the toggle option in the camera app. Any thoughts or videos you could make on getting this to work ?

I’m not entirely happy at the only copy being in a shared library - I want the ease of sharing to partner, but not that she might innocently remove an image I want - is there a way to send COPIES to a shared library, and then smartly only showing one version when viewing merged library?

Whats the difference between shared library vs shared albums? I have been sharing albums with family for years now.

It's a good start but i really hope they will introduce the option to create various libraries for work projects as well. Would love to separate my private life from professional projects im my photo library and i guess i'm not the only one hoping for this feature.
