"Are we human, or are we penguins?"

I think I just fell in love! ❤️

Europa has always been my favorite moon. I just KNOW there's interesting things going on there, especially after hearing about the salt!

A Galactic “You are here” Poster must have a place on that shrine’s wall !!

Blow up a small portion of the Hubble Deep Field survey for your wall. It's good for maintaining ones perspective.

In the early 90s, I saw a partial solar eclipse with a tree's leaves making hundreds of images on the ground. It was awesome.

It's quite honestly amazing that we're at the point in exoplanetology where when we find a new potential Earth like planet just next to our solar system (in that case 12 ly) we're just... Meh.
Really shows us how much things changed in 25 years of discoveries.

The Great Spaghetti Monster salutes your sponsorship of our "holy headwear" (the colander)!
I always assumed "opposition" refers to a planet being on the opposite side of the solar system from Earth (furthest away).

Billionaires don't care how it effects everyone else as long as they get their way. It makes me hope that they ALL make it into space so we can go on with our lives here one earth (or what's left of it). And no apologies needed for stating your position on the satilite "interference"....many, I think, would agree with you.

Very excited for you to move into your new home! Congratulations! What an exhilarating and hectic time. Thank you for taking the time to post such fascinating topics. I particularly enjoyed learning about the salts on Europa.

imagine uncontacted tribes in the amazon suddenly seeing 100s of new "stars" in the sky, i wonder what they will think of that?

Thank you Dr Becky!! I'm a new viewer of your channel, and I plan on watching you consistently. The first video I watched was the Brian May's thesis, which was very interesting. I wish I had some recommendations for your wall, but perhaps you would like my old photos the Voyager spacecraft took back I think in the late 70's. (I could be wrong with the dates, I have the pictures in storage) Nevertheless they are pretty unique of the planets! Thanks again and take care. Your friend in New Mexico Kim.

Good Luck with the move! New back wall...Blue Screen/Green Screen/ChromaKey it, then you can add or change any image into the edit. Seen this on a few channels and it can work very well 😏👍

I enjoy your talks. You boil down complex information from papers most of us will never read (or understand) and provide explanations for us. The clips are brilliant accompaniment. I thought the black hole stuff was “well...duh”!

A Welding Helmet works great too for watching eclipses, blocks all UV and IR by design and darkens the visible wavelenghts

Hey doc, as an alternative to static artwork, a large monitor could show various high def pictures. I use the hubble top 100 for my desktop background on my PC and love it.
