Blackmagic RAW vs Cinama DNG what are the difference and which should you use ?
In this video we are testing the Blackmagic new codec BRAW and Cinama DNG. How big are Braw fills compared to DNG.

The cinema dng looks much better to me, especially the skin tones and the clouds and sky. I plan on using it on my BMPCC (original HD) camera which is on order. I can grade the dng sequence very easily in photoshop using camera raw and then exporting the sequence to tiff files, and then saving the tiff sequence as an mp4 file. A 256GB ssd for the BMPCC is less than $100. Sure the computer takes longer to process the files but I'm not in a hurry. In the context of the time it takes to set up and shoot, it's not that much of a hardship to wait for the computer to process the cinema dgn sequences. You can always do something else while the files are being processed.

Question: Cinema DNG + BRAW in the same timeline? Are there any special settings or workflow tips that one should be aware of when working with these two files in the same timeline? Would the same apply to Cinema DNG + ProRes? Or ProRes + BRAW? I'm aiming to use the BMPCC4k as a B Camera (for low light and slow motion) to my Original BMPCC. Please advise.

Question: I converted a short ProRes RAW clip to CinemaDNG (on my MacBook Pro running Monterey 12) that was shot on my Nikon Z6 that I want to Color Grade in DaVinci (which I have yet to installed on my new ProArt laptop (running under System 11)

The output is thru _000299.dng files - each 8.4MB - so are they meta-files that are imported into Resolve as a “group”??? If not, what’s the next step in processing this - single - video clip?

Why did you grade the sky and highlights purple?

The lighting looks a bit different between shots, other than that can you tell any differences between the codecs?
