If season 8 wasn’t actually real, the hermits and their bases are like waking up from a dream where you got something you wanted, but woke up and realized it wasn’t real. Either that or moon is just big

My personal theory for why tfc didn't really react to the moon is that he is a god, and has been the architect of all of this, with mining being a facade for what he really was doing.

"an alien infection was destroying the hermit's powerful force 'creativity' so the moon crashed" is such a great way to say "we were getting burned out and ran out of ideas so we decided to go out with a bang"
