I had these pick ups for 2 years now, so I think I can give you a decent feedback.
there are good and bad news for you.
they might be your best and only choice, or a disappointment.
I tried to be breif :)
EDIT: as for april 2024 I had to order a new battery, because it would not work more than a few hours.
bought september 2020

I hope both my followers appreciate

Hands down the most informative and useful Fluence pickup review out there. Thank you for doing this.

I installed the pickups in my Fender 60 CS Strat and it sounds great! To be honest, I had already installed these once and was somehow unsure at the time... so I put them back in the original, Kloppmann's, Leo sounds and so on. So now Fishman again but with switchable HF tilt. Never been happier. What is true is that the cables and potentiometers are really very cheap and installing them in the CS is difficult because there is very little space for the cable. Another thing you should take into account is that the electronics work unusually perfectly, so you need time to get used to it.

thank you for great review! is there lack of volumen and ton on b, e strings because of staggered pole pieces as on traditional s.c.?
do you have experience with emg dg 20 pickups?

I’m sorry to hear they don’t work so well for you. I use three Fluence P90s and totally love them. I prefer P90s and I’m very fussy, and these give me exactly what I want. I tried the Classic humbucker in the bridge, but was not loving it.
Personally, I think the cabling is fine, and they are as easy as any other pickup to install, although the increased features make them more complicated and require carefully following the instructions.

I wonder if you’ve ever heard of Kinman pickups? No batteries. Noiseless. Well made. Australian owner/designer however now made in the Philippines.

It sounds like you need to try a set of EMG Crossroads which are part of the retroactive series. They are supposed to sound more like a passive pickup than normal EMGs, yet they’re still active and silent. There’s not many videos of them on YouTube but I think they sound decent.
