I'm in Ohio I was hit by a drunk driver who started punching my car when I pulled over it happened on May 21st. I was not at fault he was arrested and charged with OVI and hit skip. I still can't get the police report I was first told I would have to talk to the supervisor then the supervisor told me that he didn't know why it wasn't done that I would have to talk to the officer that wrote it then that officer said it would only be one more day that was 4 days ago I keep calling back everyday and they keep telling me it's not done. I told them maybe I should call a lawyer and they told me to call my lawyer then and hung up on me. Do I have to hire a lawyer to get my police report so I can turn it into his insurance company so they can pay me for the damages? My insurance company is Geico but I only had liability so after the accident I called them because I thought you were supposed to report an accident and they kept telling me they couldn't help me in any way whatsoever because I did not buy the comprehension part of my insurance and I said you can't even give me advice and they said no and just kept repeating over and over that I did not buy the comprehension and then hung up on me. I am low income so I don't have a lot of money what do I do? Then if I do something to make the police give me what is rightfully mine will they then mess with me because I made them mad because I already had this happen with another police department and I had to move from the area because I got followed to and from everywhere I want when I came into town I don't want that to start happening again I'm in a different town trying to be unnoticed.
