The SG Standard has been a staple in the Gibson USA line up for years, quickly becoming the most popular Gibson USA model of all time. For 2016, the SG Standard returns in full force, now in two variations, available in both the traditional dual humbucker configuration, and, new for this year, a 2 P-90 configuration, perfect for players looking for a slightly different flavor and vibe. The Gibson USA SG Standard is traditional in just about every sense of the word, with a traditional tuning system, bridge, nut width and finish. The 2016 SG Standard also returns at an extremely attractive price point, making this legendary classic available to players both familiar and new to the Gibson brand. We couldn't be happier to see this instrument make a triumphant return and we're incredibly proud to have the SG Standard here at Wildwood Guitars.

I read recently that the legendary PAF humbuckers that came after the P90's were designed to sound as much like the P90s as possible only without the hum. I believe that is why I like the sound of P90's so much is they are warm, articulate and full to my ears compared to the Fenderish sounding regular single coils. I truly like the P90's maybe better than both of the others.

I just bought one and can't wait until it arrives at my home. The SG standard and the P-90 were made for each other. I mean they weren't literally made for each other, but I'm sure you get what I mean. It's tonal heaven. ;)

This video really helped my decision. So glad I got this year model of this SG. One of my favorite guitars now. I think P-90 SG’s are way more interesting sounding than Les Pauls.

I have always wanted to see Greg plug into one of those Marshalls behind him. It's like being in a candy shop and not being able to eat the candy.

Yeah the people who dislike em' are the hacks who wish they had half the chops Greg does. Keep it up man, great demos. Like the ones that flash the amp and pedals real quick also!!

Coulda been an EPI SG and Greg would still sound this good. Talent and hands are the real key

Just bought one yesterday and love it so far! Pleasantly surprised at the neck profile...Not a skinny 60s neck I was expecting. Fit and finish are excellent and the P90s....well, they're P90s! What's not to love.

Too bad Gibson isn't making the Classic SG P90 any more. I just got a used 2008 model and it plays and sounds as good as my R8 that costs 7 times as much. My Classic has a killer '59 LP burst neck profile, really nice binding, and fretboard action after 10 years that feels like it was PLEKd. No wonder they aren't making them... they were too good!
