I read recently that the legendary PAF humbuckers that came after the P90's were designed to sound as much like the P90s as possible only without the hum. I believe that is why I like the sound of P90's so much is they are warm, articulate and full to my ears compared to the Fenderish sounding regular single coils. I truly like the P90's maybe better than both of the others.

I just bought one and can't wait until it arrives at my home. The SG standard and the P-90 were made for each other. I mean they weren't literally made for each other, but I'm sure you get what I mean. It's tonal heaven. ;)

Just bought one yesterday and love it so far! Pleasantly surprised at the neck profile...Not a skinny 60s neck I was expecting. Fit and finish are excellent and the P90s....well, they're P90s! What's not to love.

Too bad Gibson isn't making the Classic SG P90 any more. I just got a used 2008 model and it plays and sounds as good as my R8 that costs 7 times as much. My Classic has a killer '59 LP burst neck profile, really nice binding, and fretboard action after 10 years that feels like it was PLEKd. No wonder they aren't making them... they were too good!
