It made my evening seeing this video drop - sign of how much we have all bought into the build.

Thanks for your explanation of the terminologies of the materials you are using.
Absolutely fascinated with all these new wood construction techniques.
Just wish I was 30 years younger so I could get to play with them 🙁

How weird, I was just thinking that I wished I knew the full names of the stuff you're using and then you explained them all! It's coming on well and taking shape... Looking forward to it the next stages. Although in the spirit of 'ticking offs' it does make me nervous that you are standing underneath a big old heavy lintel without a hard hat on! - All the best guys x

I could do with another 6 hours of this. I feel like I'm achieving something. What did you do over the weekend? Oh me, well I did quite a lot on my barn build.

To add to the conversation the reason you use Gluam over solid timber is;
Through the finger jointing process you can remove defects and therefore achieve higher grades. In terms of length and dimensions you cant achieve much more than 240mm solid timber board width out of a log and hence by making beams from smaller lamellas you can pretty much make any beam size you like. Upto 500mm wide (With Block gluing) + to 2000mm deep etc.

Tim, I bet you need as many calories a day as a marathon runner! I get tired just watching you. Great stuff.

great work.
Just wondering how you are going to cover / mark off the wall where the swimming pool will be to outside.
This is the last walled section to put up some sort of temporary cover before the crap weather comes.
