Surprised the Chinese Broadcasting Company is even reporting this, let alone saying 'Taiwan' instead of 'Chinese Taipei'.

Why is it that big countries think they can boss around smaller countries? Live and let live and there will be peace for everyone.

She was transferring the US to go to Central America not that it makes any difference. It’s nobody’s business, where an elected official goes and who she has meetings with. Just another example of the big bully pushing people around again the world is getting tired of them.

I came back from a great trip to Taiwan just last month. Wonderful people, beautiful scenery, and great food. I went with my brother and sister-in-law(who's born and raised there), and stayed with her parents. She's worried, and I feel so sorry for her, her beautiful parents, and all the people of Taiwan.
From my talking with people, as well as from what my brother's in laws said, the vast majority of Taiwanese want de jure independence. It's disgusting how very few countries recognize Taiwan as a country, but as part of China. Everyone there was proud to call themselves Taiwanese, even though the majority have Chinese ancestry, including my sister-in-law. It would be like Canada being called a territory of England. I also met Indigenous Taiwanese people. What rights will they have under Chinese rule?
Very sad, and worrying for a great country and people.

More obvious and importantly, the U.S. should mind its own business but never does.

This world would not know what to do with one day of peace and quiet....The kids just need to play with their toys, 3-day temper tantrum and then a time out.

Taipei considers itself to be the Government of China. 13 countries still recognize Taipei as the Government of China.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau must be happy. After all he publicly expressed his admiration for China's "basic dictatorship".

China ought to focus on improving human rights and leave independent, democratic Taiwan alone. 😬
