Показать описание
A review of the complex and layered architecture found in Windows Server and Windows client operating systems. A look at Windows 11 and Server with Hyper-V as a component of Microsoft’s fundamental network stack. Comparing the OSI 7-layer model we will explore elements found in the network stack from layer 2 “Data-Link Layer” to OSI layer 7. Microsoft’s network stack is functionally in kernel mode but APIs and user mode services are available to developers and users who need to modify the behavior of their network stack, an example your firewall. From network card drivers to Windows Filter Platform and IP support we will examine this complex topic. Much of this structure is also found in Azure.

I'm on minute 15 of this video and I couldn't finish it before commenting: Mr Vanderpool is absolutely the BEST Microsoft & Technologies vulgarizer/trainer/teacher of the whole Internet. It's always a real pleasure listening to this very fine videos. The amount of information that each of his videos provide, is amazing. He can provide a top down view of any subject, explaining the bird's eye view down to the macro view of the subject.

Another great videos, Those filters are real network "taps" that monitor packets going in and out, that's how I look at it.

This is very helpful. Planning to force my entire team to watch this lol. Question for you about filters or drivers more generally: have you got any videos which cover exactly how these are tracked in the registry?
