West Virginia is an eastern U.S. state in the tree-covered Appalachian Mountains. The town of Harpers Ferry, where the Shenandoah River meets the Potomac River, is the site of a famous Civil War–era raid. Surrounded by a national historical park, the town looks as it did in the 19th century, with many of the buildings open to the public as living-history museums.

Born and raised in West Virginia and has a West Virginia I just want to say if you ever visit our state you got to try our world famous pepperoni rolls preferably fresh that's the best type of pepperoni roll you're going to get is the fresh ones right out of the oven with a little bit of cheese inside I mean it's not much right home now but we're proud of it it's just pepperoni with cheese and a roll but it is good also we're let any other West Virginian lie to you we are friendly as long as you don't cross us

We celebrate Bridge Day on the 3rd Saturday in October where we block off half the bridge have a party on it with live music, base jumping and bungee jumping. People come from all over the world to base jump off the bridge.

I am so glad you mentioned Heritage Village in Huntington. I feel like it is a little known treasure, even to folks who live in the state. Another unique feature you didn’t mention is riding on the PRT in Morgantown. You don’t have to go to Seattle to ride on a monorail. 🙂

Proud WV native here! Thank you for this! But you left out Greenbank National Radio Astronomy Observatory (largest fully movable radio astronmy dish in the world), Dolly Sods, Canaan Valley, Cranberry Glades, Blenko Glass, Homer Loughlin China (iconic Fiestaware), the Greenbrier Hotel, and the annual Mothman Festival. But overall a great into to our beautiful state! ❤
