Born and raised in West Virginia, graduated twice from West Virginia University, moved away for work and returned to care for my parents before their deaths. While it's beautiful, peaceful, and great people, there are few jobs that pay well with a future. I'd move back if financially possible for me, but I sacrificed my financial security for too long for my parents. Was ripped off financially by my siblings and still need to work two jobs just to make my bills.

Yo, I'm from WV. I can confirm its a state you either fall in love with or hate. It's got some of the most amazing and some of the worst things that could be in a state. It isn't too hard to see the beauty in it though. I'd reccomend at least giving it a chance

wow people are kinda rude in the comments, lol. well i'm from KY and i personally love it here in Appalachia, and i thought your view was beautiful too. i've only been to Clay county in WV, so i don't know a ton about the state, cept its more rural than where i'm from. but i know i sure love the drive on the parkway to get from here to there ... absolutely gorgeous! there's something about central Appalachia that really has got me! i guess i'm just used to the people that were raised not to say anything atall if they couldn't say something nice, and all that. kinda sad to see how many unhappy people there seem to be in the world. plus the people here are just SO different from other places, that's why i've stayed in the region when some people have moved ... they actually are kind and more willing to lend a helping hand, than to spit in your face, or drive past car wrecks without stopping, say. well anyways, greetings from KY, the state next door to ya! i'm in the literal forest on top of a little mountain myself
