Food processors and blenders can be huge time savers in the kitchen, but don't they basically do the same thing? Hannah answers the question of whether or not you need both of these appliances.

It’s time someone made a high end blender & food processor that shared the same base unit.

I have both although at one time I also kept my compact food processor on the counter but since my current blender included a food processor attachment I've put the compact in a cabinet and use the blender's attachment for small things. Still there's just so much more that can be accomplished with a full size food processor. You really need both.

I went for years with just a Vitamix. Purchasing a food processor really changed the game for me in the kitchen as far as some dishes are concerned, like all of the above mentioned things. Having a food processor really was necessary, a blender just couldn’t do everything I wanted it to, or even with the ease with which a food processor can.

I have both because a high-end blender can't slice or shred foods with perfection.
A stick blender is awesome for small batches of whipped cream, too. I love mine.

Is it bad if I only watch these videos just to see Hannah? I mean seriously, I could watch a video of this woman counting from 1 to 1, 000, 000 and never get bored.

Hannah, I love this series and your presentation style. Keep up the great work! Also, I vote Tanner as permanent co-host and taste-tester (for only dog-safe foods, of course).

Thank you for sharing this. I've always wanted to know which of the two is more important (for me though). Now I know which of the 2 I should get. ♥️

I loved this video for one reason. I use vintage appliances from the 1940's- 1960's exclusively in my kitchen on a daily basis. Sure, I do have an immersion blender that I love, and a blender for drinks. But I don't have a food processor. My vintage Sunbeam Mixmaster from 1949 has all kinds of attachments, ice crusher disc, shedder disc, grating disc.slicer disc on one attachment that hooks up to the mixer. Then there is the food chopper/ meat grinder. I have the butter churn, knife sharpener, potato peeler. I use them all.

When I was a kid we a Kitchen-Aid or Oster blender that came with a food processor attachment. I wasn't doing most the cooking back then, but it seemed like a great machine to me. Wonder if my mom still has that old thing.

I like the immersion blenders a lot for big blending tasks in a dutch oven, but for small amounts of food like pasta sauces or purees, they are not ideal - a blender is a lot better. There are also some soups like a pure broccoli/water soup where you want a really even blend and it would not really be possible with an immersion blender. Immersion blenders are okay if you don't mind a bit of rustic texture in your soup - sometimes that's even desirable - but for small applications or very refined blends like that broccoli soup or a cherry tomato pasta sauce or a smooth carrot puree, the blender seems to be the way to go. If you were making cherry tomato pasta sauce for 10-20 people, an immersion blender could work, but not for 1-2 people - there's just not enough in the pan for it to work.

It will be interesting who comes up with it first!

I have a oster blender processor combo. It works for me.

Have you seen these combos like BOSCH MSM 88190? You can use it both like a blender and like a food procesor.

I can't afford either one right now, but can understand those who want both.

I have a little Oster blender that is designed for smoothies but I’ve made gravies and cake batters with it too.
