Discovering Vaughn Gene was the best thing that happened to me in 2024.

Two months ago, you inspired me to pursue hobbies and close chapters. All I can do is thank you and let you know that your words change lives. 😁

A mantra I sometimes tell myself is that Action is the engine of motivation. Results in the form of improvement primarily come from action (sometimes they do come from inaction but that’s mostly in the form of rest and time to reframe) Results/gain are imo the greatest motivational booster. Especially when it comes to working on music related things.

I've watched a lot of self improvement channels and a lot of video essay channels. You bring a new and unique vibe. Feels cozy chill encouraging and relaxing at the same time. Excited to see the future ones

What I understood is that, basically, you are talking about dedicating attention to learning the fundamentals of a skill and then spending the remaining time combining these fundamentals, which, in this case, you call side quests.

Basically, this is structured thinking. I use this to learn skills as well. It’s the best way to understand absolutely anything. Once we learn the fundamentals, the rest becomes much easier.

Keep making your videos; your approaches are very good.

I found one of your videos due to my goal to learn spanish in a year with a deal in my buddy, I ended up finding one of the most relatable youtubers to date. I love introspection and for me to have a guide has been amazing, thanks for helping me be me and create the life I want. You rock Vaughn :)

My Adhd often keeps me paralyzed in the research phase before diving into new interests. Dyslexia makes it so hard to understand all the information. I love the idea of creating these tracking forms but how do you even decide what to put down first? My poor brain.. my goals this year:
Keep on top of my new business and stop sh*ting myself in panic about it every day.
Take my Japanese grammar studies more seriously and ~actually~ learn it.
Learn and hopefully become rather skilled at archery- recurve bow.

I picked up playing guitar a few months ago. I noticed that, even if I'm not making big progress, as long as I'm coming back to it and still care, I'm happy about my relationship with the hobby

I just saw your channel today after spotting the "too many interests?" video, and I wanted to say that I really enjoy your channel! I'm learning Spanish right now, and I'm also learning piano and a bunch of other stuff. Your videos are really helpful and the overall vibe is awesome here! :)

You killed many birds with one stone with this video. I was needing to work on my ability to focus, and also needing a better practice regimen. Great work!

First time being earlier to one of your videos, I really appreciate your content, extremely grounding!

I have similar interest as yours, but utterly scattered brained, it’s nice to have a physical reference for progression.

Happy new year, I hope you and anyone reading this have more success in following years to come!

My week:
Music Mondays: learning music theory, working on my piano compositions
Learning Thursday: learning Korean (going through a book in addition to Saturday classes), learning history im interested in, documentaries etc
Friday: phone call Friday for keeping in touch with family and friends. Not something I feel like doing so it's a discipline for me.
Sermon Saturday: listen to 2 sermons of particular interest to me
Also on top of this I'm trying to complete a book a week (reading or audio), even if it's one I already started but haven't finished. I have so many books I want to read or have started and this is helping. Though I am only setting a goal of doing it for 2 months right now as that feels attainable to me
