Just in case anyone was wondering about the CPU: Intel Penium II and III cpu's came in Slot 1 Formfactors so they could improve output since having the cache and cpu in one chip means if any one part is bad the chip is scrapped.
Once Intel got the process down they stopped using a slot design.
