This dude is so cool.

His dream is not mine. I don’t want to freeze, all the time. But I have to say, what a cool guy. 73, fit as a fiddle and the joy and energy of a young man.

Super cool. So inspiring to me.

I just visited Bruce at his home(10/05/23) and he is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He was so welcoming and allowed me to literally play with everything inside of his airplane home. I definitely recommend visiting Bruce and his unique home if you are in the vicinity

Love this guy’s energy. He’s a geeky kid at heart in the body of an old man. Seems like an awesome person to be friends with.

I get kinda emotional whenever I see passionate people working towards what they love. Hoping to find that feeling.

My friends and I went to visit his home a couple of years ago. Bruce was extremely friendly and welcoming.

This guy needs a YouTube channel to share his knowledge of what he learns and does

He’s happily living his dream with no regrets ... and hurting no one ... hope he finds a way to fulfill the other part of his dream, permanently living in Japan with his sweetheart ....

The world would be a better place if everyone were as passionate about something as this man is.

Imagine the moment he laid eyes on this jet in the salvage yard, and knew this was going to be his home for the rest of his life... I would love to see this written into a modern day fairy tale, with a fantastical ending of him taking the jet straight out of the forest for one last flight.

Wow...brings back memories of our trip to Portland and visiting Bruce in 2021. Such a nice guy. He let our son sit in the captain's chair and that was the highlight for him. Bruce was also gracious enough to get his first aid kit when our son cut his knee trying to get onto the wing. Best of luck, Bruce! Hope you find a way to spend more time in Japan and with your loved ones.

Just visited Bruce today (01/06/2024) and he is doing very well! It was so inspiring to see someone living their life exactly the way that they want. Highly recommend if you’re in the Portland area to come and say hi and chat with him for a bit.

Not a life for me. But he seems like such a warm and good-hearted man. I wish him the best!

What a dream come true for any aviation enthusiast! Bruce clearly knows his stuff about airplanes and he respects the history of this amazing Greek bird. Love it!!

Really cool, but I can’t help but imagine a plane that is completely renovated inside and out to feel more like a traditional home. That would be really cool!

I remember seeing this years ago and was amazed by this man's determination. I can still say that it hasn't changed.
