Pigeon Racing For Beginners. part 1 (Ep 53)

How to start racing pigeons. Whether it's for $20,000 in prize money, for the love of racing and competition, or just to spend time together with the family doing something other than watching TV or computer games. Here's how you can get started in the sport of racing pigeons. This isn't an exhaustive list, nor will it be entirely correct for your circumstances or region. But as there aren't many videos out there for the curious soon-to-be pigeon fancier I thought I'd put this together to help answer some of the common questions.

When I wanted to find out more about how to get started in racing pigeons I wasn't sure where to look, who to ask and what I needed to do. I'm far from an expert, but I wanted to share what I found in my first young bird season with anyone else who is looking to dip their toe in the fancy.

Brilliant video explaining to people new to the sport in simple terms how things work. There isn't much out there to help new starters, a lot of these beginner guides out there require you to already know the basics. Cant wait for part 2

Great video .my dad was in this great sport for 40 years after I was given a white racing pigeon. That's how we started. My dad dad became the secretary of the club worked very hard .there were 60 members alll sorts of people different ages .in stone Staffordshire. But over years it got less and .less in 2021 it finished. . I realy think if there was sponsorship to cover costs and and for the top 10 players in the races .it would help the sport .Great video and your inthusisam is really good .it will hopefully help new people come to the sport..my dad's best race .1st from saints only 3 birds on the day very bad weather .4 year cock injured hi wottle completely ripped open and 3inch cut on his back my dad's mate stitched him up and made a complete recovery 34 mins infront of the other 2 bird s ..good memories .hopefully more people will start and maybe more clubs start . .keep up with your videos they are really good

I got cancer 1.5 year ago and I had enough time to do whatever I start watching pigeons video and now I love them but I had many problem.
I am from India and we don't have enough racing pigeon in India
Anybody who is selling them are too much expensive and In my state I think nobody have racing pigeon now. And I am poor I can't buy them so I am happy by watching them 😊

What a great video Dan!!! Very informative. You hit on all the points needed to be covered. You talked about the genuine good nature and giving the people in this sport are too. I’m in this sport just over one year and I’ve yet to pay for a bird. I’ve been loaned quality breeding stock and my mentors are just the best. And they don’t mind going over things more than once for this old guy!!

Fantastic videos mate you are right it's hard on your own but when you get them coming it's a fantastic feeling I also started this year with the young birds and had birds gifted by local flyers keep up the great work.
