I actually remember eating camel in Saudi Arabia back in 2011. It tastes very similar to beef but slightly chewy.

Fun fact in saudi Arabia camel and lamb meat are the only meat we eat especially with rice, we rarely eat beef .

Camel meat is so much better than beef if cooked right. The meat is extremely lean with barely any fat in it. So you have to incorporate fat from its hump to make it juicer

Camel meat and beef taste the same. Camel meat takes longer time to cook and is a bit saltier naturally, so need less salt.

I've cooked and eaten Camel meat twice, in Pakistan.
