The most recent church I left was because of something similar. The pastor would quote studies or famous people and/or make assertions from the pulpit almost every week that I was able to discover were false or at least misleading in under a minute of Googling. At first I thought they were honest mistakes and sent polite emails with evidence later that day, only to have him reply that he was aware of the information I sent him and left it out on purpose. I've never seen such a staggering lack of commitment to honesty from someone IRL before or since.

I did not grow up in the age of tablets, but now that we have the internet, I am always researching everything.

I hated when Watchtower said, "one man noted, " "another woman found, " heck they could be quoting anyone in their service department, or their legal department, in their congregation and it would be true, right?

Sometimes I would make a remark, "another man said, " and it would be just the opposite... to prove how easy it is to just make a remark without any foundation.

Watchtower is not just funny, it is evil, because it does do this on purpose, it knows what it's doing, and it does it very well.

Thanks, you are very entertaining, I didn't laugh but at least I didn't cry... I'm so indoctrinated that I never noticed that, and a lot of quotes put by watchtower in their articles they formed me.
Now, I'll take more attention at all stuff I'm influenced, by anonymous men women and scientists

Amazing how watchtower actually cited their sources for the Creation book. Looking them up was one of the main damning pieces of evidence that convinced me they were full of crap.

Many ex JW's are well educated and have thorough educational background. The problem lies with cognitive dissonance, and the struggle trying to accommodate the indoctrination of this sect and the trained reasoning methods received within the educational background the individual has.🙋🇵🇷
