Small puff of smoke: 00:32-01:53
Larger puff of smoke: 01:53-04:07
Ring of smoke: 04:08-05:53
Shading: 05:53-07:59
Glow effect : 07:59-08:35
Add a gamma and multiple colors: 08:35-10:30
Animating small smoke column: 10:30-11:49
Animating large wall of smoke: 11:59-13:02
Animating an explosion: 13:03-14:42
Animating a ring of smoke: 14:42-16:03
Evangelion example: 16:03-18:02

Just realized I forgot show the contoler for the "small puff". In the displacement modifier set coordinates to "Object" and attach it to an empty object! 💨💨

In case anyone is wondering how to make the smoke react to the light correctly, thus getting object shadows on smoke / explosions to darken it rather than lighten it, you just have to flip the color ramp and put an invert node on the fresnel output.
