Well, you got me with this one! I lost my Mom to cancer when I was 23, and the only thing I have left is a cassette tape of her singing this song to me when I was a baby. I guess my Dad recorded it. She had such an amazing voice and was the most incredible person I've ever met! It's been a long time now, and I still miss her, and think of her every day!

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face is a 1957 folk song written by British political singer and
songwriter.Evan MacColl for Peggy Seeger, who later became his wife. During the 1960s it
was recorded by various folk singers and became a major international hit for Roberta Flack
in 1972, winning Grammy Awards for record of the year. Billboard ranked it as the Number one
Hot 100 single of the year for 1972. Thanks Mia! For an amazing Roberta Flack video! 🙂

Roberta Flack taught school in Washington, DC right along with my Grandmother. Roberta if you are watching I'm one of Mrs. Saunders Boys. Grandmom is no longer here but we are successful and living good. Charles Rabaut Jr. High School. That's taking it way back.

Masterpiece. As a person who has been alive for a while now, and a once part-time musician, this is one of the most beautiful pieces ever recorded in my opinion. I can barely get through it without breaking up.

I loved this song when it first came out and love it even more now. Listening to it today brought me feelings I felt in the past and probably will never feel again.

I'm so glad I was a young woman during the times of such great music. I'm also glad that young people can hear it and appreciate it.

Back then you had to "Bring it" without technology help. Dive deep young Queen. 70's music was awesome!!!
