You're out here doing a genuine service for me and my family by treating me like an equal and just giving me the information my elders didn't because they assumed that it was "common knowledge" nah that doesn't exist, if it did, you wouldn't need schools or to learn it from someone else. Damn older generations always out here forgetting you don't get anywhere without help. Thank you and congrats on the button.

That stripped screw tip is genuinely so helpful, the amount of times I’ve suffered with pliers and absolutely wrecked two by fours is ridiculous…

From my early years as an aircraft mechanic, comet or Ajax abrasive cleaner(powder) or coffee grounds pressed into a stripped screw often help you get a grip..

Bro my dad taught me stuff but that hair tie one 🤯

Just remember to do the last trick early, you can strip it bad enough that trick won't work.

I use two pieces of tape over the screw, one for the bit to chew into, the other to catch and set the grooves for easier movement; waaaayyy easier imo than a hairtie

Another good tip. If you have a bolt you need to stay in the socket to put on something take a piece of plastic and put it on top of the bolt before putting the socket on it. The friction will hold it in place

If you strip a Philips head screw you can sometimes use a small torx bit and it will bite enough to unscrew. But it can still strip with that too so be careful.
