I’m sorry, but I disagree with President Biden’s commentary. The legal discourse surrounding this case and issue quite literally showed almost every legal scholar lining up with the Supreme Court decision even if they disagreed with the position purposely. Which is why it was suggested time and time again not to pursue legal action against former President Trump. I find it very strange that a sitting President is willing to attack an institution on the campaign trail while trying to maintain the moral high ground. I have found it very disconcerting and discouraging as an American citizen to see our institutions attacked for a political campaign by both sides. There should be some things that are agreed upon to be off-limits. I think attacking a founding institution while pushing a deceased founding father is very dangerous along with the narrative that democracy is on the line. It’s invoking proof where it cannot be provided on quoting what the founder would say. Both candidates are extremely guilty of pushing this emotional fallacy. I find no problem whatsoever with the court, and calls to attack and impeach them undermine our institutions that allow for peaceful transfer of power after each election. Both sides pulling at that fabric is extremely dangerous and as citizens we should demand that they are not allowed to go to that level. This, and President Biden has stated, will need to be done through voting as that is the only voice these folks seem to respond to when the actual people of the nation are unhappy with all the crap slung.

Very disappointing. If the President wishes to maintain rhetoric high road, I need to see that he will remain on that road.

Where I would truly love to see the actual change outside of the political sphere is in the media. The obligation and responsibility of providing accurate information to the public is a crucial part of maintaining society. Allowing corruption and editorial takes to become the main part of media broadcasting is a perverse twisting of responsibility. Media outlets were initially paid because they provided information to the people and people wanted that information. Now collectively the media has moved so far to pushing an advertisement or concerned with access that it is not doing what it is designed to do. Why I blame media more than the politicians is frankly, you should have the spine to stand up for your beliefs. Politicians are supposed to know the art of compromise while maintaining morality…media is supposed to make sure and be a protector of that morality for our society. The fact that this no longer occurs is shameful, and I hope that my fellow citizens start to realize and reject this pervasive behavior more in the future.
